Introduction to this E-folio

The following reseach is about teaching. It describes the characteristics of a teacher as well as the way that a teacher has to interact with their students. The ideas or thoughts that my classmate and i have regarding to the native English-speaking teacher (NESTs) and the non-native English-speaking teacher (non-NESTs) their pros and cons and the way of teaching. Why it is important to create a a lesson plan as a succes tool for teachers, and the importante of creating lesson planning to develop the class in a better way. Besides, the activities and materials required inside the classroom in order to have an enjoyable atmosphere. The importance of writing, reading, listening, and oral work in the process of learning in order to develop children´s skills, and the comparison of traditional teaching and online education and their advantages and disadvantages.

1. Lesson plan as a success tool for teachers

  1. Lesson plan as a success tool for teachers  a) How useful is lesson planning for teachers? A lesson plan is the instructor’s road map of what students need to learn and how it will be done effectively during the class time. Then, we can prepare appropriate learning activities and develop strategies to obtain feedback on student learning. Now, we know what a lesson plan is we can say that it brings a lot of benefits for teaches because it allows them to keep in order each step that they will develop during the whole class. Furthermore, to have a lesson plan could be absolutely useful for teachers because it will help them to prevent monotonous classes, and at the same time, a lesson could even improve teachers to be dinamic. we know that there are a bunch of warm-ups that could help them to catch children´s attention. Besides, time will be pretty good managed in an accurate way since teachers have a lesson planning. A lesson plan could even help to plan the specific lean...

2- Compare traditional teaching and online eduaction.

2- Compare traditional teaching and online eduaction.  a) Compare the top ten traits of traditional teaching and online education. We know that traditional teaching has its advantages for children, but it also has some drawbacks that it is necessary to stick out. First, we have the schedule stiffness. There is no flexibility to create a personal calendar in order to combine studies and personal or work file. Conversely, in online education we have the flexibility. We know that distance education allows access to classes whenever and wherever we want. The schedule is flexible so we can create a personal study plan with their needs in mind. There is no need to give up anything because of a lack of time. Another disadvantage we can find is the high cost not only of money but also of time. Commuting demands an economic expense, and if the classroom is far, we will have to decide whenever the trip is worth it or not. On the other hand, we have the commodity in online classes....

3- The young learner

  A) They are very talkative and if someone asks them what they are doing or how they are doing it, they will easily tell you everything.   B)When the child wants to carry out the task and what he says, thinks and does it brings him closer to achieving it.   C)When all its manifestations take you away from your objective. Someone is negatively motivated when he avoids approaching the task to be done. She even hates being approached to her.   D) When you do not care to do something or stop doing it. The indifferent attitude tends to be negative and to do nothing, out of comfort.   E) hen children trust you, they tell you about some activities they will do after school and count until they won't because their mother scolds them.   H) For the little ones everything is a game , everything is emotion. They do not know about labels or routines, instead they always find the funny side of everything. His boy problems - homework, scolding, a figh...

3- The young learner

3- The young learner a) Give a detailed explanation of what the children you know are like. In my whole life i have known many children because i belong to an enormous family full of teenagers, adults, and children. I also have the opportunity to have a handsome little brother. He is a four year old, and i have a couple of stories with him. The first year in the collage, I was requested to give a classes to grade. It was a great chance to me to get acquainted with children. When i was a teacher, i figured out that the children at the school are really energetic. They never run out energy, and they also follow a leather. I mean, there is always a leather in a group of children. It is really curious to watch that. My little brother is a hard case because everybody has to do what he says in the exact moment. We are like their personal bondsmen, but it is really cute to see a smile on his face. He is not afraid of anything. Conversely, i have some cousins who are really shy. They...

4) Listening, Oral work, Reading, writing

  4) Listening, Oral work, Reading, writing  a) Describe how you would teach these skills. Which is the most difficult skill to teach? Contrast your ideas as a kindergarden teacher in El Salvador with the theory given in the books. There certain ways to teach those skills to children, but i think that we should be unique doing this. O f couse we should let aside the book guidelines because it helps us to be excellent teachers. I surely follow the idea of listen and do activities because we can make use of from the moment we start the English lessons is giving genuine instructions. Besides, we can see if the children have understood the message or not. However, the book also gives us another way to teach listening to children which is moving about. As we know children need exercise and movement, and we must make this possible. We could ask the children do all sorts of crazy things. The more language the children learm, the more we can ask them to do. The advantage of this a...

5. When things go wrong in class.

A)There was an internal disturbance.  B) There was an internal disturbance. C)The class went out of control. D)An activity took too long. E) you had extra time . F)An activity did not work. G)An activity was too difficult.   E) If I had extra time, I would give feedback on the topic, but since I know students are already tired of receiving theory, the feedback would be a fun game for students to participate in. And if they make a mistake I would correct them. and If they are correct I would give them additional information on the subject.   F) If the activity does not work, I will try to improvise and create another that can awaken more interest in the student. Or have an emergency activity or plan b so as not to lose the rhythm of the class and not to lose the time and interest of the students.   G) If the activity was very difficult, what I would do is learn from the mistake and improve or readjust some things for the next activity an...

5. When things go wrong in class.

  5. When things go wrong in class.  Look at the list of things that can go wrong in a class. - There was an internal disturbance. - There was an external disturbance. - The class went out of control. - An activity took too long. - You had extra time. - An activity did not work. - An activity was too difficult. a) Explain how you would deal with four of these situations. It is necessary to know what to do in case we face one to these activies because it is pretty normal since there are many unpredictable children. If there was an internal disturbance in my classroom, I would try to keep everybody under control. I mean, an internal disturbance could be a fight between two classmates. So, it is important to separate them and stop the fight. We must create a harmonius relationship between all the students. If it is possible, it would be still great to make them see each other as siblings. Only in this way they are going to take care each other. To avoid proble...

6. The tools of the trade

  6. The tools of the trade a) From the chapter, choose the tools that you would use in your class, and describe the activities that you would use them for.  There are many tools to use in this chapter, but i would totally use puppets because we have a couple of ways to make one for example, we can make a bag puppet, glove puppet, hand puppet, or finger puppet. The chapter says that we can use them for dialogues, and I agree with this because we can perform fairytales with the children using the puppets. We can even use the puppets to give the class. I mean, we can make a paperboard stage, and the puppet would be the teacher in this way the children would be really excited about the class. Card games is one of the tools that i would really like to use in a class because it is easier to do than other activities. I would use this activity to improve reading skill because we can give the cards to the children with the image of an animal and the name written below so that they...
